Our Real Estate Investments began over a half a century ago with the acquisition of our first industrial property in 1972. We later expanded into retail and residential mixed-use developments across the New Orleans metro area, as well as the Mississippi Gulf Coast and northern Mississippi. WILLIAM LEGIER, CPA, CFE, CFF

PRINCIPAL PARNTER

Bill Legier’s experience in business and real
estate spans 50 years as a CPA-entrepreneur with noted enterprises including Arthur Andersen & Company, Oreck Corporation, Legier & Company, apac, and de la Tour Holdings, LLC.

Bill’s background includes the development, ownership and operation of a multimillion-dollar portfolio of retail, residential, and industrial properties in Louisiana and Mississippi.

 

His numerous real estate acquisitions and developments include noted historic and other properties throughout the city of New Orleans and the Gulf South region.

 

While serving on the Board of Directors and as President of the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA), Bill headed the effort to fund, acquire and restore 125,000 square feet of historic warehouses in the Bywater District of New Orleans, adjacent to the French Quarter, to create a state-of- the-art conservatory for students in the arts throughout the State of Louisiana. This project cost exceeded $25 million at its inception and continues to grow and develop. The facility and programs are recognized as one of a kind in the United States.

 

Bill’s CPA firm, Legier & Company, apac, was founded by him in 1984, and was a leading New Orleans-based Forensic CPA and Business Consulting firm. Its clientele included Fortune 500 companies and the “who’s who” in the business industry both nationally and throughout the region. In 2024 Legier & Company was acquired by Cherry Bekaert, a national CPA firm.

 

Some of Bill’s noted award-winning historic restoration projects include The Howard located at 833 Howard Ave., The Academy located at 820 Dauphine St., and the Stone located in Columbus, MS. Other real estate investments include shopping centers, mixed use developments, industrial properties, and offices throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.

 

Bill is a graduate of Louisiana State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner and is also Certified in Financial Forensics.

MELISSA LEGIER

Melissa is a co-founder of de la Tour Holdings, LLC where she has been actively involved since 1990 in many aspects of its operations including the interior designs of its properties.

Melissa received her BS degree from Loyola University and holds a Degree in Interior Design. She has practiced as an Interior Designer for over 30 years with both commercial and residential design projects, including those of de la Tour Holdings. As a Principle and Director in de la Tour Holdings, llc Melissa is actively involved in its administration.

 

Melissa’s de la Tour projects have included award winning historic restorations of the Academy Apartments, The St. Louis Cathedral School and Nuns Convent in the New Orleans French Quarter, The Howard Apartments, the seven story triangle building known as New Orleans answer to New York City’s Flat Iron Building, The Esplanade, a boutique hotel across the avenue from the Old Mint in New Orleans, The Stone Apartments, formally the old Stone Hotel in downtown Columbus, Ms. and new ground up mixed use developments in downtown Pass Christian and Long Beach, MS.
